Tuition costs

  • For international students, tuition fees are relatively higher compared to other European destinations. They may range from €8000 to €20000 per annum. However, given the quality of education, it is worth it and bright students may avail plenty of scholarships to help with their costs. Also, most students are able to find their desired program within a €10 000 – 12 000 budget

Living costs

  • On average, cost of living for a student in Sweden is between SEK 8,000 and 10,000 per month (approximately €750 – €900). This includes lodging, food, transportation, literature, and any personal costs. However, this can vary based on the student’s city and lifestyle.
  • In order to save money, students can share housing with other students or rent a room in a student dormitory. In Sweden, public transit is likewise reasonably priced, and students receive subsidised monthly passes.

Job Prospects

  • Unlike other countries, students in Sweden don’t have any restrictions for working however, their primary priority must remain studying. And moreover, it is not easy to find part-time job there without having some knowledge of Swedish
  • After graduation, students can extend their stay for 12 more months in order to stay in Sweden to look for jobs or start their own business, and upon a successful job hunt they may obtain a work permit

Climate

  • Sweden has a diverse climate, and the weather can vary substantially by season and location. The southern sections of Sweden have a temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters, whilst the northern regions have a subarctic climate with cold, snowy winters and brief, cool summers.
  • The average temperature in Sweden during the summer months (June to August) is between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius, while the winter months (December to February) can be quite cold, with average temperatures ranging from -3 to 0 degrees Celsius
  • Students from outside of Sweden should be prepared for the country’s chilly and dark winters. It is advised that you bring warm gear, such as heavy coats, boots, hats, gloves, and scarves. In addition, students should be prepared to adapt their sleep habits to account for the shorter days of winter.
